Barcode Knight - List of Barcodes for Monsters

I thought I would put together my own list of barcodes for people who play Barcode Knight that want to finish off their monster collection or just scan specific ones for the quests given at the shop.

I will do my best to space the barcodes out, as the app doesn't actually require you to put one in the magic circle that appears on screen.  I've had it read other barcodes that were on sides or corners of the screen a few times now...  It would still be advisable to try and line up the barcode to the camera as best as possible before tapping the scan portal though, just in case.

Good grief, it's been a while....

HAh!  I've been so carried away with recording for YouTube that I forgot to keep my blog up to date... XD

Still looking for a job...  I had hoped that the CineWorld opening up near here would happily take me on, but alas I had an email back saying that I wont be going through to the interview process :/

My wife and I went to Japan in September to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful time.  Just about much everyone was helpful and polite, the food was delicious and the sights were amazing!
We spent the anniversary day itself walking around Tokyo Game Show where we got so many freebies, leaflets and rewards for taking part in playing a game on display / minor event.  We even got a few hand fans to keep us cool in the heat XD

My most recent adventure is recording my first review ever for YouTube (Rusty Reviews - Barcode Knight), 30 minutes of me babbling on about a mobile game that we saw on display at TGS.  I want to make a page of barcodes and list what appears so people who have the game can find all the monsters more easily, a bit of photography may be in order XD

Sniper Elite V2 - Nicely made, could do with some work

This fortnight's Games with Gold title for the XBox360 is Sniper Elite V2, a sniper realism sim' which set during the Battle of Berlin, but with a different narrative.

[SPOILER ALERT]
The rough plot is that you play as an OSS officer, Karl Fairburne, who is inserted into Germany and tasked with eliminating 5 german V-2 ballistic missile scientists.
You travel to a number of locations destroying underground facilities, eliminating targets at long distance, even sniping and destroying a V-2 rocket prep'ed for launch, and eventually finish off killing the mastermind the day before the Cold War begins.

Overall I found the game enjoyable, immersive and generally fun to play.  Judging the right distance for a shot and sometimes timing it with loud ambient noises to hide my gunshot became second nature and I was able to headshot practically and enemy with ease once I got into the swing of things.
The games true colours only came out when I played it through on Elite (Hard) difficulty, because not only did I have to compensate for gravity, but I also have to adjust for wind as well, which took a bit longer to get used to, but eventually I could hit any stationary target in 1 - 3 shots.

The game makes incredible and unfortunately quite excessive use of its "kill-cam" feature, where making a successful and worthy sniper rifler kill (what the game seemed to think was one), you would follow the bullet from your gun, all the way to your target where if you were precise enough it would engage an X-Ray view, showing you the damage dealt to the unlucky soldier.
Whole fun to watch, most of my shots were to the head, apart from the odd one or two that hit a lung, kidney, heart and even *shudder* a testicle.....   Yup.... those shots made me cringe.

The areas you play in do have a nice feel to them, nooks and crannies to explore and authentic looking scenery (even if most of is is rubble) etc, however they are quite small, usually revolving around a single building.
Sniping is often performed around the 100m mark, meaning you will instinctively move to the first notch of your rifle and fire because you already know the distance on every soldier in the area.  There are a few shots though, which are done at 300m from the target, which are pleasing to perform.  [SPOILER]  At the end of the game, the main villain tries to escape in a car and you have to climb to the top of a ruined monument to perform what I dubbed "the shot", because your character is totally out of breath from the running and climbing, which makes you scope sway all over the place.  On Elite difficulty this shot was murder, taking me 7 shots with the Gewehr 43 rifle, hitting my target at just over 300m.

Some of the terrain was poorly set out.  Bodies would sometimes merge into the ruins of a house and you would have to guess where they were to search them.
Soldiers would randomly walk over my trip mines and not trigger them.  I'm note sure if they get a chance at being lucky or something but they would often set them off if they ran away and came back.
Dynamite is insanely powerful!  In the first mission, if you clear all ground troops and place to two charges as directed, then make a line don't the street from the furthest charge, you can destroy the entire convoy in one go and just have to take out a tank and a handful of troops.  The reason I don't like it is because further on in the game I set a trap where a land mine had some dynamite next to it.  The dynamite went off from enemy gunfire and nearly killed me through a wall... in fact most explosives, even grenades, will hurt you through most walls in the game.
The game needed more Panzerfaust!  3 shots with one on a single level was pants... it only took one rocket to destroy a tank. the other 2 were spammed into a factory.
The PPSh is supposed to be the fastest firing gun with the least accuracy, but the russian troops were landing shots on me at 200m...!

The biggest thing that annoyed me was the visual range.  Maps seem to be set up in sections, if you walk out of one into another it's corresponding enemies will appear and vice-versa.  Sometimes I was taking shots from enemies weren't visible, other times I fell victim to soldier who could see directly bellow himself and shoot down at me through the wall he was behind.

HOWEVER!  As I said at the beginning I enjoyed it for the 33 hours I played it for so far and can't wait to try Co-Op play on the campaign or specialised missions.
There haven't been many games out recently that I personally felt were immersive, I think the last games I played that had good immersive qualities were Metro: 2033 and Metro: Last Light.
I will admit a small bias towards games set in this era, I'm not entirely sure how to put it, but I enjoyed Wolfenstein, Commandos, watching the Tintin cartoons, kind of a "quick, we need to go to this country, but it will take X days by boat!" and the most common use for a plane was short distance travel.

Meh I'm rambling now......

Nicely made and fun to play, but needs bigger areas, more weapons and more fairer AI accuracy. 8/10

Also, a general update as to why I've been absent for so long will be up as soon-ish as possible!

Pokemon Randomiser, so much fun! XD

I've recently been watching videos on Youtube by Scykoh, who has used a Pokemon randomiser "hack" that works for just about every Pokemon game up to Black and White 2 and I have to say, it REALLY makes the games more fun!

Randomiser site: http://pokehacks.dabomstew.com/randomizer/index.php

It has quite a few options which can randomise things like, which pokemon appear where, the moves they will know when caught (they still learn their set moves i think), give them a random ability, change what trainers have, as well as their "class" (Cool Trainer etc) and name.
Trade NPCs can be set to request and give random pokemon, you might be lucky and be able to buy a Mew from the Game Corner, so much fun, madness and chaos is possible.

I've just been playing a Pokemon Soul Silver rom which I randomised and got a Shaymin as a starter!
It only knew pound, but it had Wonder Scale and was an Electric / Fire type due to randomised moves, types and abilities.

Now I'm messing with Pokemon Black rom and the Starters are as follows: Drifloon, Salamence and Banette.
I have only randomised the wild pokemon and trainer's pokemon on this rom because I want to see if you can trade them over and have them count as "legit" for X Y and possibly the Ruby Saphire remakes (wooo secret bases!  ahem... >_>;  ).

If I can get a good recording setup, it would definitely be fun to make some sort of lets play :D

New Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare add-on

Yet another free add-on from the guys at Pop Cap! :D

The new Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare add-on is interesting. the free peashooter variant is a little inaccurate, but it's charged shot is good for hitting a corridor or small room, a few players firing its charged timed shot could clear a room from extreme range.
Personally i still prefer the Toxic Peashooter for its splash damage and poison effect by just walking near a zombie!

The new map is golf course themed and a very good one to use for Garden Ops mode.
The new game mode, Suburbination, is like Conquest modes from Battlefield.

It also has a "bling" items sticker pack, which is basically all the original vanity items but metallic silver, gold or diamond encrusted versions.

All in all, it's another nice add-on, but there was no mandatory patch or any new achievements added.
Seems silly to put in 2 new game modes and not add achievements, they did it for Gnome Bomb...!

Oh yeh, beware the Vampire Lord boss in Garden Ops, it's eeeeviiilllll.........

Black Ops 2 - S&D - When did you slump so low...?

Having decided that I had had my fill of Modern Warfare 3 and being fed up of the hackers, I've moved up to Black Ops 2.

Some who know me will know I love to play Search & Destroy, its more tactical and challenging than just you simple Team Death Match, Domination etc,  but it seems to have slipped into some sort of slump over the last few years some how.
Connectivity is shaky at the best of times in Multiplayer and Zombies, you tend to be put into your own lobby or get put with one person.
Also, the "trick shot" seems to have gone uber-mainstream now, mainly with all the underaged players who think they have something to prove.
Almost every game will have at least 2 people trying to do some form of jumping shot, frantically switching weapons and equipment.  Most of the time it looks like their controller is having some sort of epileptic seizure with how sporadic the switching is @_@

I suppose I was exaggerating a little, 2 people doing it isn't that bad, it's more when an entire team does it and all you want is to have a challenging game, but instead end up being the last man against a full team of 6, then end up jumping off a cliff or building to their deaths anyway.  Why bother?  If i wanted to prat around and do something like that I'd do it in private matches, and if I wanted to spend an entire round watching people I'd go play Zombies and die deliberately :/

I do get some laughs out of it though, since they're too busy messing around so much it's easy to kill them, mostly because they can't aim or even quick-scope straight XD
One guy accused me of "camping till last" (some weird ass term that applies to people deliberately sitting back until everyone is just about dead, then doing trick shots), which i wasn't, I was walking around the edge of the map to attack them from behind, it wasn't my fault that everyone decided to go and commit suicide in the central part of Studio...

It may make me sound picky, or even anal when it comes to stuff like this, but the number of people I've reported recently is ridiculous.  Though I do question the point in doing it using the games report feature.  I only say that because now that Call of Duty Elite is dead, Treyarch seem to have moved onto other things, presumably their next title, let's hope that that game has a more balanced damage system and walls that aren't made of paper, cardboard and MDF (cough-hijacked-cough)!

R.I.P. to my main Dofus account :(

Anyone following me here from other site I'm part of may remember that a long time ago i used to play an MMORPG called Dofus.

Somewhere in the 3 years that I was busy at university, my account was banned and I finally remembered to try again with recovering the account.

Unfortunately, it appears that the developers had a security breach and a number of accounts were compromised, mine being one of them....

I was informed of this in a support ticket that i filed on saturday, eventually getting a response mid evening yesterday (24th July):

"Monaka Yesterday at 18:58
Hello *******,

Thank you for contacting Ankama Customer Support and apologies for the delayed response.

The account was permanently banned for using a bot. Unfortunately, since this is a permanent ban, the account will not be released.

If you have other concerns or inquiries, please feel free to send us a ticket.

Best regards,

Ankama Customer Support"

Anyone familiar with MMOs will know the level of dedication you put into you characters, my best was level 80 and I had quite a few other high progress items, a guild (though it was just me and 2 or 3 other people) and a butt load of materials for baking bread and to sell on the markets (I liked messing with the economy).

Oh well, if i ever decide to go back it's a fresh start for me i guess...
